The Clinic’s Stephan van der Merwe has been awarded funding grants from the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime (UNODC) and the University of Stellenbosch Faculty of Law’s Research Committee to visit Melbourne, Australia, from 27 November to 9 December 2018.

Stephan will attend the International Journal of Clinical Legal Education (IJCLE) Conference on 28 to 30 November to present a paper entitled  “Intentional about impact: Changing lives and laws through the work of University Law Clinics”….

South African Law Reform Commission International Conference on Access to Justice, Legal Costs and Other Interventions

Law Clinic attorney Odwa Nweba was recently invited to speak at the South African Law Reform Commission International Conference on Access to Justice, Legal Costs and Other Interventions.

 

Clinic represented at SOTL 2018

The prestigious annual Stellenbosch University Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) Conference was held in Somerset West on 30 – 31 October 2018. The Clinic’s Stephan van der Merwe presented a paper entitled “Towards empirical validation of theoretical assumptions in Clinical Legal Education” as part of the session in “Transforming the curriculum”.
