News coverage of landmark litigation

On 8 August 2018, the Law Clinic, Summit and 10 other applicants instituted legal proceedings against 49 respondents in the Western Cape High Court to seek judicial intervention in respect of certain debt collection practices. All the major role players in the credit industry are involved, including the major banks, lending institutions, the Ministers of Justice and Trade and Industry and the National Credit Regulator.
