Mock trials commence

From 19 to 28 September 2018 the Practical Legal Training 471 student consultants are involved in the annual mock trials at the Clinic. These trials follow on several months of preparation as student firms consult with their witnesses (first year law students) and then draft and exchange pleadings to identify the various issues in dispute. The trials are conducted in the Clinic’s moot court venue, and with as much authenticity as possible. They are judged by a panel of experienced external jurists as well as 2 assessors who are on staff at the Clinic. This event is a highlight of the Clinic’s academic programme, and is often described as the most valuable learning experience of their LLB studies by those students who are fortunate to participate.
