Nikita Roode joined the Law Clinic as a student consultant in the Law Faculty’s Practical Legal Training course during the final year of her LLB studies. She started with her articles at the Law Clinic in January 2009, when she obtained her LLB degree. After ceding her articles to Legal Aid, South Africa during October 2009, she completed her articles there in December 2010, whereafter she was admitted as an attorney of the High Court in February 2011. She was appointed as practising attorney at the Law Clinic in February 2011, and assists clients with general civil litigation and advice, as well as divorce matters, with her focus mostly on opposing eviction applications. She qualified as attorney with right of appearance in the High Court. She also assists final year law students at the Law Clinic with advice, and mentors candidate attorneys who are registered under her at the Cape Law Society.
